Their commitment to sustainability has been present since the first festival, with a focus on reducing and redistributing food surpluses.
DARiACORDAR has been collecting food surpluses from the festival's concessionaires and backstage areas, resulting in a smaller ecological footprint and a greater social impact.
In this year's edition of COOLJAZZ, 205kgs of surplus food were collected and 410 meals were distributed, with an estimated economic value of €1,025. The efforts also resulted in 861kgs of CO2 emissions being avoided.
DARiACORDAR has been working on a national network against food waste since 2011, and the results have exceeded expectations, making a significant impact on the environment and society.
